Airbnb launched a new luxury hotel in Paris with a themed park in its heart.
The hotel, named Jiro, is part of Airbnb’s efforts to create more hotel brands in Europe, including one in Milan.
Airbnb’s chief executive and co-founder, Anthony Levandowski, said in a statement that the hotel was built around a theme-park concept that “involves bringing the theme park to the heart of Paris.”
Airbnb’s theme park will include “some of the best parks in Europe,” Levandowski said.
The hotel is being built in the Paris suburb of Champs Elysees, and Airbnb has also announced a new European hotel that will open in Milan in 2019.
Airbnb has had trouble attracting new European hotels, and Levandowski told Reuters that the company was considering adding hotels in the U.K. and Germany.
“In the U!
Europe we’re working on a whole bunch of hotels, from our original hotel to more.
But in the next few months, we will launch in Paris,” he said.
Airbnb launched in China in 2014 and has since grown into a luxury-hotel-rental platform, with more than 5,000 listings in China.
